My motor is or was misfiring not that i knew it them but a few days ago the check engine light came on. Today i to it to advanced and they told me that the light read random misfiring. I replaced the spark plugs about a year ago (4000 miles on them) and he sugested replacing plugs cap and button. I bought all 3 $120. On the was home the light went off. You can tell a difference when its on and off so it is misfiring. Not much power difference but it just feels a little different and not as smooth. This ever happen to anyone?

missfire could be from a number of things, It is usually fuel (injectors) or spark related. It could be a mechanical problem also, a compression test would let you know if there are any problems mechanicly

WIRES, cap, rotor, start there, have you been keeping track of oil consupmtion ?

P0300 ( random misfire) can set for many reasons. with the wet eather we have had the last few weeks, your cap and wires may be arcing.

and, if you bought the AZ wires, I hope they are lifetime, cuz you'll need them again in about a year.

I'm not an big advocate of paying dealer prices, but some things are worth the extra $$$, plug wires are one of those things. cap and rotor as well. I replace far to many after market parts that are "new".

check your intake for leaks as well, they are notorious for vacuum and coolant leaks.

they are bosch preimium wires for $67 how much would the OE ones be? also the Cap i think was $35. As for the misfiring im not sure why it would stop. Its not doingit anymore. I have riven the truck twice and the lights not on. never came on or gone off while running its either on when started or not.

found out that my PCV is bad. Im not 100% what all would happen if it went bad or what codes it could cause but is this something that could be related to my problem? It was rattling like crazy once i opened the hood with it running. Vibrating pretty bad.

Replaced wires, cap, button, pcv, and fuel filter. Still had the problem but gonna try some fuel injector cleaner and see if that helps. I dont think its mechanical as it comes and goes and if it were I dont think it would ever run good. Anyway I got a sensor somewhere acting up.
