Hey,

Anyone know of a place that can do speedometer calibrations in Raleigh on a motorcycle? Or better yet just confirm for me how far the speedo is off? you can buy the module on ebay to correct the speedo.

Thanks,
bigmac

FYI is this is speeding-ticket related - Wake county dosn't accept that.

If you just want to know - good for you. Pretty rare to do it BEFORE the pressure is on!

well unfortunately it is for a speeding ticket. the bike was regeared by a previous owner and the speedo is waaaay off. i had actually planned to buy the speedo-healer already, but just didn't get it in time, lol.

anyways, i've got a lawyer working on the matter and she informed me that it's very rare to get an "improper equipment" in Wake Co, but she is going to try if I can get her some kind of legit proof that the speedo is significantly off. we'll see...

thanks for the heads up though.

Your best bet then is to not only get the proof it's off, but also proof you have fixed it. That's what they REALLY want to see - not that you "accidentally" broke the law, but that you're taken the initiative to avoid doing it again.

it's not rare, it just doesn't happen period. any lawyer that's told you otherwise is either the best lawyer in this state or doesn't know wtf they're doing.

it's worth a try to show you've fixed the problem for some leniancy or a dismissal, but getting it reduced to improper equipment isn't happening.

yea, we'll see. regardless i'm going to get it fixed. i'm paranoid driving it. and even for my own knowledge i'd like to have an accurate idea of how far it's off. pacing beside a car just doesn't cut it to me. thanks for the input.
