i just went yesterday. if you haven't been before, make sure to go with someone who knows the trails. (the map sucks)

X2 - I won't go back until there is a better map. We rode for hours looking for something descent to play on. Even getting directions from others was difficult sometimes because of all the side trails and poor marking.

awww come on dont be a quitter. how do u think all the fun trails were made up there? people just driving around. but i can feel u if u had a long drive just to ride,

there is a map being made by lomodyj on here check with him, and hopefully our club (AORC) will be putting trail markers up all over the place so when u look at the map u will really know where u are.

x3 I think we rode for about 5 1/2 hours and wheeled about 1 1/2 hours.(worst map ever) There are a lot of trails up there but most of them are dead ends or just rough dirt roads.

Parker,
Sorry you and Wesley didn't really get to wheel much. We'll try again another time. Thanks for all the help moving rocks, pulling winch cable, etc. on the rock garden.

hey did u make it up that rock garden sunday?

We both had to winch. It was pretty narrow and hard to work different lines, but was a lot of fun.

I think that as time goes on, it will be a nice place to ride, but a good map is essential.

Thanks for the directions, they were pretty straight forward, but we still missed the rock garden on our first pass. Did you make it out alright?

Without Jed's winch, I would probably still be sitting up there. I got in a few tight spots and couldn't go forward or backwards. I broke a t-case mount and couldn't keep my ride in gear. The rock garden was a lot of fun. I had a blast at the waterfall and the rock garden. Just wish we could have skipped the endless driving to find them. Like Jed, I think that it should get better in the next couple of years. Thanks for the help with directions.
I thought about you guys while we were heading back to the parking lot. My t-case sounded like it was going to come through the floor. I guess you were having some issues with the broken motor mount too.

it's cool. watching and helping is fun also. good times.

wes is all excited about it. his gearing and all terrains made everything interesting for him.

trying to get my dad to go to ure thursday...

hey notice how we totally stole this thread??? yeah i made it out alright i had a 1.5" wide ratchet strap holding it in place. even drove it home. so whos wheeling friday?

Here's a somewhat better map. We are still working on it. Download it to your hard drive then print it in color. There are coresponding color blocks on trees near the intersections. The numbers on the map at intersections are also posted on the trees. We are planning to finish up this map and have all the trails and intersections marked by the end of September.

Some of the trials will change color soon. As you can see, there is 2 Yellows, Three Lavenenders, a Black Loop and a Black Trail (not shown yet)...We will get it right soon...:flipoff2:
