This is Fodder Stack Mountain located right next to my home town "Fall Branch". I climbed this mountain when I was about 13 years old and remember the top as being pretty difficult terrain. But I fantasize on the thought of buying this mountain and turning it into a Recreational Vehicle Spot and moving back home. :driver:
Cool thought anyways. I've wheeled the mountain right next to it "Chimney Top" and it was a blast driving straight up a mountain! Better was the trip back down!
This would be the only good thing to happen on this mountain. It's been logged and developers would have a hard time developing it due to it's location. It's pretty easily accessible from I-81 and is 5.5 hours from Raleigh. 4.5 hours from Charlotte.
Someone might be able to contact the owner to wheel on it since logging trails exist? I don't know the owner? But the owner might see the potential and open it up for a few bucks a head?
But then again, 329 acres isn't alot when you think in terms of trails. One loop (about 6 miles) and several off trails might yield a few miles but not alot considering the back side of this mountain is straight up!

Let's go in on it fellas? What do you think?
Oh well, I can dream...
Curiosity does make me wonder what will become of this land?

300 acres is not too bad. you could amke a lot of trails with that kind of property. if it were in California or one of the states without trees just rock it would be perfect. (no trails just open land ot wheel on)

...Put me down for 2 acres...ok guys, only need another 163 folks willing to buy 2 acres each!

:D

According to the site there are 2810 members. I think realistically, there are about 300 people who are active, maybe less. For round numbers, lets say 329 people want to go in on this land. At $2350 a person, everyone gets an acre. Thats not much more than wheels, tires, and a regear. Just something to think about that would never really work...

Esp when I decide that I want to build a 5,000 sq ft house on my acre, and say FU to everyone else, and too bad that it happens to be right in the middle of the best trail ever.

The best way would be something like 10 people w/33acres each. But thats 77k/each...which isn't bad for 33 acres. Anyway, enough speculation. One of you big talkers need to put your money where your mouth is...

I live about 30 min from there.Been wanting to run chimney top for a while, but ever time I try to go they are fighting roosters, dont want to get caught up in that mess.

What does that mean? Cock fights? And if so, what does that have to do with trail riding?

"Cock fighting" means roosters fighting each other to the death while people wager on them.It is very popular on that end of the county and is VERY illegal. They dont welcome outsiders.I have a buddy that can see fodder stack and chimeny top from his front porch and he wont go up there.
