Mounting a winch with a stock bumper

Several companies make a winch plate that bolts right up with a factory bumper.

I havent found one that is for the 2004 TJ, they seam to stop at 03, I'm still looking. thanks

there are plenty of winch plates for later model TJ's. Here's one that I found after 10 seconds of searching.

Nothing changed for mounting a winch on the front.....A TJ winch plate will work.

will it matter that the bolt pattern on most of the mounting plates are 10 x 4 1/2, just don't want to weaken the plate by drilling 4 new holes? The ramsey winch has a pattern that is 6 1/2 x 4 1/2.

trust me you wont weaken that plate with 4 new holes

Just food for thought, that 5k rated winch is really too small to use safely w/ your vehicle, unless you also use a couple of snatch blocks
Might work in a mild situation, but if your really stuck - maybe not.

Yes the winch is undersized for the jeep but better than nothing. Use two of the existing holes and only drill two new ones, but you will be fine if you want to drill new ones.
