Ok im finally teying to tidy up the bed of my dd/towrig, want to keep everything from being loose and sliding around. What would bethe best way to mount my hilift to my toolbox? Obviously it would require some cross bracing and whatnot to the aluminum hox. What do yall think

Sandwich some steel or some thick aluminum plate to the top and bottom, or even a piece all the way across. Some bolts to hold the plate, and then some bolts all the way through to bolt the jak to.
Seal it up and be good. Keep in mind, I doubt your lift shocks will hold the weight of the lid and the jack, so ya might wanna keep you a stick or something inside to prop the lid open when putting stuff in or taking it out

yeah I was thinking, take a 2.5-3' long piece of 2"x1/" or 3/16 flat stock. Drill a 1/2" hole in either end. Now drill 2 corresponding holes in the box lid. Push a 3" long 1/2" bolt through holes w/ a washer on either end, and pinch the bolt/flat stock down w/ a nut on top.

The you can just lay the hi-lift on the 2 bolts sticking up. Get 2 1/2" wingnuts to clamp it. Done in an hour. Ditto on a prop.

Note - be sure to get one of those rubber "handle keepers" or fab a way to keep the handle tight, or it will drive you crazy w/ the rattling...

Cool thats kind of what i was thinking...wasnt sure about the aluminum holding it...im actually going to mount it to the face of the box not on the lid, so no worries about it affecting the lid props

i wouldn't use wing nuts, i would use locknuts or something simular......

...or use bolts big enough to cross drill and use a small lock.
