Looking at moving from this backwards place called california ..
looking at the greensboro area for work and to live in the burbs south or west of the city ....

suggestions on places to avoid or look into would be helpful..

hopping to find 4+acres with a home that you could off rounds in the back yard with out the neighbors calling the police ....
Someplace that is 20+min away from the nearest store ...I want the boonies...
thanks for your help

welcome. areas i like outside of greensboro are : level cross , randleman, mcleansville, gibsonville, brown summit.

Good luck with the move, welcome to the board

Be sure to read the stickies & rules before posting in the for sale section

mudonthetires pretty much nailed it.

Also just past the virginia state line is some nice land (from a 4x4 perspective) and its only 20-30 minutes up highway 220 from G-boro.

i prefer to stay to the west of Gboro, pretty fond of the winston salem area but anywhere in central NC is great.

Davidson county!!!!!!! Everybody hunts from the porch:) If you don't have a gun, they issue you one when you move in! Seriously though the schools are good and it's about 20 minutes from Winston, High Point and the "Barbeque capitol of the world" is the county seat.(Lexington) Uwharrie National Forest is the local wheeling and it is just to the south.

yeah, i always forget about davidson. even closer to uwharrie!

Backwards part of CA? San Joaquin valley??? All cotton and cows? Been there. If you're thinking of the Greensboro area it's north or south. To the north around Reidsville you might find something but that area is getting tapped out, subdivided, etc. Better luck looking south... Randolph, Davidson, or Montgomery counties will offer better property values. Here in Montgomery Co. you're looking at 3k to 5k an acre just for land depending on how far off the beaten path you want to be. With a house? Depends on what you're looking for. Several houses up for sale in my area but I don't know the acreage. But yes... we shoot from the back porch... front porch... both side porches if we had em.

We are full. AZ still has room:flipoff2:
