This winter's build:
HP44 front, Yukon Zip locker 4.88s flat top knuckles/high steer with one ton steering kit from ECGS
Full width 8.8 rear with Detroit locker 4.88s, Solid axle bracket kit
BDS long arm lift(already installed)
custom 1/4" flat belly skid
1" body/ 1" motor mount lift
37" Toyo Open Country Mud tires on 17" aluminum wheels
Jeep is a wrangler 4.0 with an automatic trans with overdrive.

Just wondering about street manners with the detroit and does anybody have any estimates of what MPGs to expect.

I have a TJ on Rubi 44's with 4.88s and 37"s. I would guess I'm getting around 10mpg or so.

Not sure though, but I can tell you for certain it is not very much.

just about the same setup on my s10, 36's 488 gears detroit locker in rear.

Running a bone stock engine 4.3 with 233 t-case.

On freeway running 65 to 75 I am getting about 17 mpg, in town I would be lucky to see 10 mpg.

As for the rear locker when driving. At time when hitting the gas you will feel the rear end wanting to pull side ways. it's no big deal just keep driving..

I want to do something similar but i was gonna do something around 5.13s with 37s. I'd do 4.88s with 35-36s but thats just what I feel will work best. I have 4:10s with 33s but with the 4cyl and get maybe 11 round town and 8-9 on the highways.
