Just curious if anyone was heading up memorial day weekend? I know the flats has an open invite, might stop in on sunday there.
 
a group of 4 of us will be there saturday night through monday. 2 yj's, 1 s-10, and a zj all on tons, coming from asheville, boone and bristol. i expect there to be quite a few people there this weekend..
 
may make it up.
 
sweet, as of now there will be my cj5 on tons, a yj on 42s and tons, an xj on 35s locked fr and rear, yj on 35s locked, and another yj on 3/4 tons locked on 38s. We gonna stay at the mountain empire motel, and roll in early sat morning.

just got done finishing some 35spline superiors and ctms in one of our rigs. Staying at the mountain empire friday night, hitting the trails early sat morning.
 
Had a good day, did the waterfall, easy out, armor all, and pull cable. Also tried the hillclimb which I did not succeed at, should have hit it faster, tried it like 4 times and the farthest I got was the last time, thought I broke something so I quit...

Oh yea, and I guess what I heard "pop" in that video was the welds on the spider gears in the rear axle. If I would have known thats what it was I'd have probably given it another shot, but at the time I wasn't sure. Guess this is one of the good things about a FJ-40 rear axle, I can weld it back up without pulling the 3rd...
 
Had a freakin blast this weekend up there. Ran all the good trails without much incident. We did have one guy cut a 38 tsl, no spare so i loaned him a 39 to get loaded back up. The xj in our group snapped a tre, but he had a spare.

First time ive ran armour all all the way out, ive got to say, its friggin awesome now. Took 3 of our rigs through there with minimal effort. One of the rigs is a 4 banger yj sprung over on 35s, it made it everywhere!

I tried the waterfall again......and once again had to take the winch out. The yj on 42s crawled right up though.

Hopefully have pics up in a day or so.
 
Man michae I SHOULD have gone and come to hear from Holli the next day when we were bored at the family outing she said you should have gone with MICHAEL!!You believe that crap lol well man hopefully next time,glad you guys had a good time!
