Anybody know any clubs that do some mud runs or some ORV areas that have some mud nearby? Rocks are fun and all that, but I am missing my Louisana mud.

[dream]it's all dried up, none left[/dream]

I hear there's a ton of it in Moab... ;)

Go to uwharrie after two solid days of rain. :D You will have a blast.

The sprinkler idea - not bad - but my neighborhood has a million restrictions, and that is probably one of them. Uwharrie - Uwharrie doesn't have mud - it has some clay that get's slick in the rain, but that's it. Plus now, they filled in the only decent holes with asphalt chunks - kinda took all the fun out.

Asphalt chunks, WTF, when did that happen?

There used to be a place called Payne Rd. north of Winston. All it was was mud pits. It might still be there. There's a huge mud pit out near my work too. I always see trucks comming out of there all caked up.

During the winter while UNF is closed, they will normally work the trails. This year, they filled in the big hole on Rocky Mount Loop where Daniel hits it with asphalt chunks, and also the big water hole/trough that was on Rock Mount as well. There is another place too where they did the same thing. They are pushed into the dirt, but you can't even spin a tire in those holes now. Closest thing to a mud hole now is on Rocky Mount loop near the double parking lot where a few people cracked their hard tops last year. They filled that in too, but just with more clay.

good... i hate those holes. besides my dislike for mud, they seem to be an attraction for all the redneck idiots up there (atv's mainly).

Isn't that the truth. A huge group of them were gathered at the one near RML and hollered for us to turn around and do it again. They were hanging out of the back of pickup trucks almost running into trees. There was beer involved. By the looks of them we just kept right on going. We saw rangers about a half an hour later and alerted them but I am not sure if they got there or not.

I was coming back from Uwharrie Saturday afternoon and there were about three trailers that passed me going back towards URE on 27 that had big full size trucks on them with what looked like tractor style tires, didn't get a good look, but they looked like mud boggers from the glimpse I got, but maybe I'm wrong, I was curious where they were going???

As Joe once said: "Mud is the Devil's Poo"

Stewart, when I get mine back together I'll pm ya. Used to have some nice ones near my house but haven't been able to get back to them lately. Also, Gazely told me off a pay to play spot up 85 near Lexington.

is that the huge mud pit off the side of the road, i see it when i im bus 85?

Yea, Bus 85, I'm sorry. Next time I'm by his house I'll get the number and pm ya. D. Galloway told me off a place called "Rod Benders" one time, don't know if it's the same place. I miss the old days of everyone at High Rock when the water was down, used to be like 100 plus trucks out in it.
