Yeah Andy doesn't tell me much about the rig. In fact a lot of the messed up configurations you've seen on my rig were my design, that I made Andy do and a lot of them didn't work. Like when I had the cable ran through my spring, so I could drop it 10" from the bucket and guide it back in. Andy assisted me in the design but it was my idea. It was also my idea to then retain the coils top and bottom (read it on pirate) and that worked way better then I expected. I've spent 12+ hour days working on my rig with Andy and I always come out looking like a coal miner and he just has dirt on his hands, I guess thats the difference between a Noob and a pro.
As for the limiting strap you are taking it out of context. They can be used for a number of different things but in the case of the CJ it is a bandaid. His roll center is out of wack because of his panhard bar design. But you guys are right, its his rig, if a limiting strap is his solution then thats what he should do.
