So I'm looking for something a good bit quieter now. Currently have a 5.2ltr ZJ with thorley headers and 3" out to a flowmaster hush power. No cats which I'm regretting. Looking for something small and quiet.

I have a bit of room restriction due to my long arms and whatnot. I tried a spintech but lord it was horrid for drone. Any ideas?

Sound attenuation and noise suppression is a science. There are mufflers and resonators. There are mufflers with resonator chambers typically designed for the application. Drone can be a real problem with “performance” mufflers. Since there are design engineers at most muffler manufacturers, give them a call and tell them what you have and what you want and don’t want. I am sure they can likely find an off the shelf application that you will be happy with for a very reasonable price.

are you running a tailpipe? a pipe ending under the body can cause terrible interior resonance.

Yes but a very small section, kinda hindered by my suspension.

I'm going to just try adding a cat and possibly a resonator this week. Local shop here has a catco 14" long 3" piping cat and a 8" silencer for 100

I run factory cats & a side dump on my F-150....it's quieter than my Flowmaster'd F-250

dynomax super turbos. I had a set on a 350 i had. motor had about 10to1 compression. I had 40 series flowmaters on it and couldnt stand it bc of the drone. after i put the dynomax mufflers on it was night and day difference. and they are pretty quiet too considering how the inside is made.
