Music recommendations

I’m old enough to not like most new music.

But now and then I come across something that catches my attention.

Today was such a day. I hadn’t listened to any albums of the Smashing Pumkins Since Melon Collie and didn’t realize they were still producing. They have a 2024 release called Aghori Mhori Mei. Yes I had to go look that name up thrice while typing.

The newest thing out I like is SOME of the stuff from Band Maid.

Not new per se, but I just discovered the band Crosses. It's a side project of the Deftones lead singer. I've been jamming hard to them for the last week. Check out their song Sensation for a solid introduction to their stuff.

They are an old band but Local H also fits with Smashing Pumpkins

Drivin' n Cryin' is one I love to hear and see. They tour all over the South and it's usually $20 -$30 at a local bar/venue. As for new. Cage the Elephant and Kings of Leon are my two favorite modern bands.

Steep Canyon Rangers. Been a fan for years and seen them multiple times. Wife and I saw them recently at the Haw River Ballroom in Saxapahaw (cool venue). Didn’t realize they had a new lead singer until then. He’s great and their sound has really expanded.
