I’m old enough to not like most new music.

But now and then I come across something that catches my attention.

Today was such a day. I hadn’t listened to any albums of the Smashing Pumkins Since Melon Collie and didn’t realize they were still producing. They have a 2024 release called Aghori Mhori Mei. Yes I had to go look that name up thrice while typing.

It’s fucking stellar! So… what new music have you found that’s impressive? Post it here.

I read this while listening to Lovin' Spoonfuls " Do you Believe in Magic"!

The newest thing out I like is SOME of the stuff from Band Maid.
Frenetic Jap girl metal rocks!

Drivin' n Cryin' is one I love to hear and see. They tour all over the South and it's usually $20 -$30 at a local bar/venue. As for new. Cage the Elephant and Kings of Leon are my two favorite modern bands.

Steep Canyon Rangers. Been a fan for years and seen them multiple times. Wife and I saw them recently at the Haw River Ballroom in Saxapahaw (cool venue). Didn’t realize they had a new lead singer until then. He’s great and their sound has really expanded.

Redferrin (country)
Sleep Token (Metal? Easy Listening? They are hard to put in a genre)
Northlane (Metal)
The Hip Abduction (Reggae/indie Pop) <<< I listen to these guys when I want to chill and need to relax
Stick Figure (Reggae)
Aurorawave (Reggae/Metal

I've been on a red clay strays kick for a while. But also Charlie Crockett, Tyler Childers, Zach top, shinedown, Cody Johnson, and Colby acuff.

Stick figure is great. If you like them, check out a band called: The Movement.

A favorite band from the 80’s/90’s that I stopped listening to anything passed 1992 is Faith No More. But I just heard an album from 2016 of theirs. “Album of the Year” and especially a song called Ashes to Ashes. Damn good!

They're not really new but I've been listening to Whiskey Myers a lot lately.
