Truck has been a workhorse, and has performed fantastic. Pic of a typical load:

Since the last update I have installed:

4" downpipe and straight exhaust. Helped with EGTs a bunch. Especially loaded.

3k GSK. Wow! best mod to date! Before, soon as it hit full boost, it was time to shift. Made the truck a ton faster and much more fun to drive! No top speed results yet.

Rebuilt the rear Power-Lock after breaking the cross and spiders. Thanks a ton to Andy @ Tarheel 4wd, and Lee at East Coast for the hookup on the one piece of clutch pack I needed. That was hard to find!!

Purchased a used WVO system from Zuber. Waiting for warmer weather to install. It is a 2tank system from Golden Fuel Systems(greasel).

Broke the tcase in half in a drifting misshap, so i pulled the trigger on doing a 13spd Roadranger swap.

Probably keep it 2wd for now to get it back working ASAP. Debating on leaving it 2wd and maybe replacing the front 60 with a beam axle. Maybe something bigger(10lug).

Puchased a used Eaton RTO9513 that should be here tomorrow. It is a 13spd with O/D. Overdrive is very hard to find in the HD truck trannies. Mosrt are direct (1to1) top gear.

Here is a ratio comparison:

NV4500:

1st 5.61
2nd 3.04
3rd 1.67
4th 1.00
5th .73

RTO9513:

Low 12.50
1st 8.35
2nd 6.12
3rd 4.56
4th 3.38
5th 2.47
5over 2.14
6th 1.81
6over 1.57
7th 1.38
7over 1.17
8th 1.00
8over .87

Cant wait to use the splits when loaded and or on big hills!

I am doing the swap a bit different than most. I am combining ideas from these two threads:

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/tow-rigs-trailers/912565-no-more-trans-failures-roadranger-swap.html

http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/9...-roadranger-10-speed-conversion-can-done.html

I am forgoing the common SAE bellhousing swap for a few reasons:

I want to keep my Brand new South Bend clutch and flywheel, new slave and master too.
Do not want to mess with the mech linkage PITA involved in the SAE swap
Do not want to mess with moving starter to other side of the block as with SAE swap.
My neighbor works in a machine shop and is making the adpater for materials cost only.

This should simplify the swap greatly and save me tons of time/$$.

I met the guy in the 2nd thread and saw his conversion done. It works awesome. he actually sent me the file for the drawing of the adpater to make it easier on my buddy and I to make my adapter. The trans I am using is larger so, it will look a bit different.

Here is a pic of the adapter on the 66 series trans:

Only update here is the correct tranny showed up. Got a 15spd the first time. Which may sound better to some, but a 15 is basicly an oversize 10 with a giant(hole gear that is activated by a switch on the dash) to be used under 1st. I had no need for that. The 13 has only 1 gear under 1st and the other 12 nice and close on the top side where i need them. It looks to be in good shape. I think I'm gonna stab it in as-is and see what it may need.

Any updates on the 13spd install?
Sorry, no.

I had to replace a few bent front end parts(control arms and tie rod ends, etc.) And some other minor stuff still needs attention also.

While they were an absolute blast in the dry....the 3k govenor springs kinda bit me in the ass.

Being able to hold full boost for a few seconds...for the first time in the rain, was a bit more that I expected. I may or may not have lit the turbo/tires in third gear and it just jumped out sideways rather violently. Apparently this thing has a bit of torque.
Especially compared to the cars I am used to drifting(TE72 and AE86 Toyota Corollas) and I am lucky I just barely clipped the tree with the L/F tire.

Also, got distracted by a Comanche because I needed a wheelin fix, but its very close, so my mental wheels have been turning back in this direction.

I also can not stop thinking about a classic truck cab swap, so we will ahve to see what happens.

just referring to the 13 speed i swapped into the monster tow rig.
