My 1979 Bronco ( Rusty Smurf )

Fugly. I love it. Any specs, besides the obvious disregard for sheetmetal? Looks like you're running deaver superflex coils up front.

I have a special spot in my heart for ugly vehicles, but Damn...

..I like it.

It is a 1979 Ford bronco with the deaver 4 inch coil spring in the front custom shackle flip with front shackle mounts in the rear for 4 nches of lift. It has a 351 modified C6 and np205 transfer case. Stock 9 inch and dana 44 axles that have been rebuilt but are unfortunately still stock geared. Tires are 38 TSL's with some custom grooving done to them ( Pics are on this forum of the groovin process ) The front end has been brought in on the sides alot and also lowered. Front bumper is a 8 inch by 1/2 inch thick I - beam welded to the frame. It is a rust bucket and I love it cause if it gets scratched dented or smashed it don't matter one lil bit.

whats up pat. glad to see you over here on nc.

rusty smurf, lol.

by the way...that third pic....

you fella's grow funny rocks in tennesee.

So I have gotten everything straightened out except for it now needs a carb rebuild. I'm hopin that this is all it needs in order to get me back on the trail, With the nice weather comin this weekend I am hopin to be able to work on it alot and maybe det a trail ride in :) Will just have to wait and see.

Lil update.... For the last 2 years I have been havin problems with this truck stayin running, You could wheel it for about 30 minutes then it would spit sputter and die out. About an hour later it would fire up and you could drive it for about 15 to 20 minutes then it would die again. Yesterday I was tryin to drain some fuel out of it ( it has an electric pump on a toggle switch ) It quit pumpin fuel on me and the pump started soundin like it was straining. I went to the tank to listen but couldn't hear much so I tryed to take the gas cap off, Well it wouldn't come off so I got a good grip on it and twisted. When I broke the seal it had so much vacum to it that it sucked in about a 2inch by 4inch section of snow that was in the filler neck hole by the door into the tank !

Judging by the new events from yesterday I am hopin that my problem all along has been the fact that the vent on my gas tank has not been workin and has been cause a vacum problem.

Gonna test it out here as soon as I can. Wish me luck.
