I have a 1986 Toyota pickup 4x4 5 speed with a 4 in lift and it is having sever rear end problems. When i change gears my rear end starts dancing it makes my whole truck jumpy. I just Changed the shocks yesterday i have 4in pro comp es9000 gas charged shocks on there and that didnt help at all. I have already broke my driver leafspring centering pin too. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME before i sell it to a junk yard as scrap and it is a stock rear end i think. It has a 410 gear in it

Sounds like you have lift blocks and some worn out springs. Swap in a set of 63s and a traction bar.

Is it "dancing" up and down, side to side or both? It sounds like you have an axle wrap issue. Chevy 63 springs are out of a half ton truck, the obs 88-9x. The install on those will require a lil cutting and welding but it's well worth it.

I will buy it as scrap.

Pop your head out the door and watch the rear springs when you take off from a stop. I bet your pinion and springs go up excessively. Like Redneck92 said a track bar and longer springs will prevent this.

now i did notice my driver and passenger leafspring pivot bracet on my truck is not lined up the same way the driverside is almost touching the frame and the passenger is straight down does that change the toughness of the springs or does it matter at all

Are you describing the spring shackles on the rear of the springs? ( pivot bracket) can you post pics?? is it level side to side out back or sagging on one side? could be a broken spring or somebody removed the bottom leafs.

If he re-used the u bolts I bet they're not tight- rusty/striped threads get new ones when you replace the center pin and tighten da chit out of them, and tighten again after driving around a day or 3. Looks like the top springs may have been re-arched for lift, and now are weak, traction bars would help if that's the problem.

centering pin new i will try tighening the hell out of the ubolts and try it. And NWOR.com does not have any prices on there site how do i find out about pricing

You would have to call them, honestly would go through a different dealer. What are you tryin to buy? Def need to address those u-bolts and check the centerpin.

X2 on Budbuilt's traction bar. It's already been said. There are several options. New lift springs, Chevy 63" leaf spring swap( I did this on my 89), or traction bar. All of these will cost a little bit of money but make sure those u-bolts are tight. Bigger tires, weak springs and loose u-bolts will all contribute to your axle wrap.

I live in Gastonia if you want to see my setup.

I had a factory load spring split and fall out while wheelin years ago and drove it home 10 miles, that was a scary ride. Talk about "dancin"

well thanks for the help it ended up being stripped ubolts so i added 2 in blocks under my leafs and add longer ubolts and it helped alot i have been driving on it for a couple of days and it still rolls just a little bit so i need to find torque specs to tighen them up all the way go get the rest out but now im having more problems now with the front driver hub not unlocking all the way the hubs are good i tore it all the way down and switched the hubs around and nothing changed my driver cv axle rattles in my hub so i bought a new cv axle and it still does the same thing so i think my cv is to close to the hub but im no sure when i put it in 4 wheel it works great but when i unlock the hubs i have to lock and unlock the driver side 4 or 5 times to get it to release and in about five minutes of driving it locks again but my hub does not turn it stays in the unlocked position the passenger side does not do it at all it works right so any pointers on what it could be
