here is my 1979 f150 custom build thread. so far it has a 6" skyjacker lift with tiny dunlop mud rover 35"s. the 4wd gave up on me so i'm currently in the process of diagnosing why. pulled the driveshafts and front diff cover and all looks well.

can't wait to get it back up and running. currently planning a 9" lift, rebuilt transfer case, upgraded axles, gears, locker, and at least 42" tires.

got some progress pictures.

went from this scary looking 6" set up:

here is how the rear sits on the 9" lift. can't wait to get some bigger tires up underneath to fill the space....

wanna sell before you make it a monster?lol

Hey man, had a blue just like it on 40's 20+ yrs ago. Man I miss that truck. U can't hardly tear em up. Enjoy it while u got it

any pictures of your old truck? i'd love to see it... my dad is the one who got me hooked on this particular body style. he had one when I was a youngin' and have always wanted one for myself growing up.

Found couple on Facebook that an ex girlfriend had taken before the 40's if I can get em to load this is the truck with 35's before the body lift and 40's

your truck has that bigfoot vibe going for it especially with that color blue. I like the roll bar. extremely nice looking truck. thanks for digging those up! shame you don't still have it. don't run into many now days.

Yea it was up in granite falls last time I saw it. If I could find it I'd try and get it back. But that might cause a divorce cause my wife hated that truck and even though I had a mustang, I'd drive it on almost every date. She's only 5'2" so it wasn't real easy for her to get in it. And she still married me so it had to be live, lol.

When it was at its tallest with the 40's, it was 8' at the KC lights. The roll bar is a Ford one that came with the truck. It ALS had the factory push bar as well.

My brother has a 79 SB, 300 six w granny 4 spd. He restored it and added 6", 35s , it is a Beast. It sits in his yard and he never drives it.............I should try to buy it from him but I'm sure he wouldn't sell it to anyone me included.

Any particular reason you went with stacked blocks in the rear instead of all spring, or a shackle flip/4" combo???

I've actually got plans for doing the shackle flip but i'm also going to lower the front coil spring bucket tower to even the lift out. so until then i'm running what came in the kit.
