Hey everyone, my name's Travis. I've been a member of nc4x4 for a while now but i've mostly been looking into the swap meet threads.
I bought a 99 cherokee sport in 2004. It only had about 57,000 miles on it. It was in great condition. Full power, all options, no scratches or dings, etc. That didnt last very long at all. This jeep was my first 4x4 and after taking it wheeling about a week later, I was hooked.

I started by testing out what all she could do, learning it's limits.

I bought some 32" bighorns, extended shackles from advance, and some coil spacers for the front. Kept testing and learning.

Worked out a trade with Jeff B for a front winch bumper and a rear bumper as well. I got this set of axles with 4.10 gears from a 87 xj turbo diesel i picked up, as well as the engine and gas tank skid. engine skid just painted. Got a set of rock rails off of austin mccrary.

Broke 9 teeth off the rear axle's ring gear at the farm.

Ran Uwharrie in 2wd. I had a rear chys 8.25 around the house with 3.55's. the front still had 4.10's. (uwharrie was almost more fun)

I made a dual battery setup using the battery tray from the 87 xj diesel i had (the tray is on the right).

Since then i got a dana 44 with radius arms. 5.13's and install kit for my 60, and im preparing for the build as i go. I'm going to relocate the gas tank, do a lot of cutting and i plan on running MJ 4" lift springs in the rear and continue using my 8" coils. i'll be running 38's most likely. still looking for parts!

Looking good! My build is a lot slower, the 99XJ was the first vehicle we bought brand new. Even though its got 135k on it, I'm still hesitant to cut i up :bounce2:
