If I had rat shot for my .22 or 9mm, I probably would have gone that route, too. It did have an impact, though.

And for the record, I wouldn't call myself a snake lover, but I typically take a "Live and let live" approach. Just yesterday, my wife got freaked out by a blacksnake crawling up the side of our house. I got home with the kids and had them watch while I gently shooed it back into the yard to let it do its thing. I'm hoping someday he's big enough to help deal with the copperheads! Because eff those guys. My kids play in this yard. I don't want them that close to my house.
