...so go easy on me ;)

I prefer to hear half music and half actual audio, but for some reason I can't get the sound off my camera to the computer. It's a sony handycam. Can anyone point me in the right direction on this?

Not bad. I use windows movie maker it comes with winows XP. I also use a Sony and it always downloads my sound. When you are making the video (clicking and dragging in windows movie maker). Below the bar where you put the clips to form the movie there is a line titled audio. make sure the clips are not muted. Each clip can be muted or unmuted, so you will need to check them all. Go to each clip and right click on the audio line to check it.

Here are few I have done with windows movie maker.

These 2 where transferred to the computer using a firwire connection. It is faster and cleaner then USB or USB 2.

This one was done using USB 2. You can tell a difference in the quality or at least I can from the first 2 videos.

This one was also done with the firewire connection.

I did all these videos without buying any extra software. They may not be the best videos out there but they show what you can do without spending a lot of money.

Good video. Peronally I like to hear more engine noise and stuff in the video, especially when things break.

Spydyr-I'm using windows movie maker
Jeepnmud- the firewire videos are better, they just take forever to download. I didn't think I had the audio muted, but I will check that.
TheGeneral- I like to here the engine noise too, I hope to have it figured out soon

What do you think is the best music for an offroad video?

Yea the firewire does make bigeer files but the picture is better when burning onto a DVD. I store all my movies on DVD.

As to what music to use. Well I have used everything from Death Metal to Meat Loaf, Likin Park to AC/DC. Whatever I am in the mood for at the time I make the video is what I use. Dont' be surprised if I post one with some Blue Grass in it sometime.....
