my 'hey ya'll watch this' moment of the day

I have often pondered how many times a persons very last words spoken on this earth were "Hey Y'all watch this".

we were extremely careful and no drinking at that point- yet

Chuck,I hope ya'll are saving that hand made brick.Shouldn't be too much trouble removing the chinking off it.Check out around the hearth real good for money.Be like a coin or too but be interresting to find.Is he tearing down the rest of the structure?

so you guys are saving the home itself, right?

he uses the place as a hunt/fish camp; so yes, he is keeping the home intact and this is in fact the first step in fixing it up. as you can see it (the chimney) was way sketchy and we just didnt feel safe around it anymore.
the brick will be reclaimed and possibly be used to build an outdoor cooking area. not sure about his plans to redo a chimney.
yes, it was fun to do, but a little sad. I took lots of pre-tear down pics. I too have an old,old house and wished that someone had the forethought to take pics before/during major demo.

btw, the brick seemed to be of several types. some of it Id never seen before. one in particular was totally rectangular with 2 little pyramid indentions in it per side where you would normally see 3 holes. they were 1" on each 4 sides, and about 1/2" deep. 2 on top, 2 on bottom. weird.
chinking comes right off. anybody got any little kids that like to beat things with hammers, well- PM back to me!!!
