I've actually seen some well done roller jobs on cars and trucks. Trick to it is to use a VERY short nap roller. It's hard to get consistent quality out of spray bombs, especially if windy at all.

IMO the trick is using Rustoleum Hammered or similar w/ texture in it... not only does it look cooler but it hides imperfections really well.

i've also seen some great rolled-on jobs. Mix it thin. Actually I roll-on painted a 4Runner top once (using the Hammered), it came out pretty decent, although frankly that stuff is really challenging to get even texture using a roller b/c it changes every time you go over a spot.

Saw a chick at Oriellys in thomasville painting her pink Miata. Right there in the parking lot, directly outside the front door. I had to pull down to the end of the building around the corner to avoid overspray. She'd run out, and go in and buy a new can.

lol thats crazy. I made sure was in my back yard away from my other cars so they wouldnt get oversprayed.

Might want to hit it with some clear to keep it from washing off. My K30 is starting to fade after about 3 years or so.

lol Thank you for the advise, but i know she is not a show "Sammy", She is going to get nasty, dirty and all scratched up.... lol So for 3.99 a can of spray paint ill leave it plain. But again thank you for the Advise.

For a beater truck, actually better not doing this - b/c at any point you can just re-spray a section to cover scratches etc and it'll match.

good looking job, I painted my K10 this way and after a few years i decided to do it with body work and auto paint and primer and whatnot, imagine my disappointment when it turned out looking worse than it did before i started....... i loved the rattle can b/c i just washed it and touched up the scratches and scuffs with a fresh coat

I used a Harbor Freight electric sprayer and a qt of rustoleum flat black on my old Comanche. It left a texture almost like a spray on bedliner.
