Or as some call it my little red tank (how it feels driving it), a 1988 Dodge Raider (aka Mitsubishi Montero). Only real modification has been a 2" Body lift, plus a little 1" torsion bar crank in the front. Right now I am running 34x9.5 TSLs on it:

Used to have 34x12.5 TSLs on it, I like the wider look really:
(For those that don't know the 33x12.5s are essentially 34s at 33.7", compared to the 34x9.5s at 33.8")

And then before (stock) the 2" Body Lift and 1" T-bar crank, right after a Uwharrie trip in early-mid december:

I used to love running 34"s stock, but I surely don't miss the tire rubbing.

Thanks for the compliments, and the rarity of the truck is one of the things I enjoy. It looks similar to the Gen 1 Trooper, Range Rover Classic, Gen 1 Toyota Landcruiser , Suzuki Sammies, and have even heard comparisons to the G50. So its safe to say I have heard it called many different things.

But the plans for it in the immediate future are custom bumpers and possibly rock sliders (hopefully before April when the trails open). Beyond that re-gearing, rear locker, and possibly 2" lift shackles are on the to-do list. I can dream of doing an SAS, engine swap, and other stuff but we will see.

i like it man, my friend had a raide rand the thing really was a tank. What axles/gears did those come with?

Pre 89 (my trucks) came with 4.62 gears (most at least), and 8" axles in the front and rear. A little shy of D44s but a much better than D30s. The 89s actually came with a 9" rear, which is getting close to D60 territory. The axles hold up great with the 34"s.
