my loud popping noise appears

what vehicle? what axle? waht mods have been done to it?(lockers, etc.)

When does the popping tend to happen?

answer these and we may be able to help

77 CJ7, Dana 44 Open Carrier, lifted 6" inches.

Accelerated from a stop, sounded like loud pop under my ass and everytime i back up and then start it makes a series of popping noises (VERY LOUD)

Same thing happened to me and it turns out I broke my track bar mount off of the skid plate. Don't know if you have one but it a place to look..

hmmm.....

first thing i would check would be the u-joints

is the lift new? any binding?

ive had loose a crossmember make a similar noise when backing up, but more like a dull clunk, but it sounded right under me

since you think its in the back i would start with the rear driveshaft u-joints, they sound like a likely culprit

Start with the ujoints in the drive shaft.
To my knowledge 77 CJs did not have any kind of trac bars. Unless every one I have seen had them removed.

SOunds like axle wrap

Yeah the SERIES of loud pops is making me think either
A) axle wrap
or
B) Major angle issues with lift

Is lift new?
Anything done to alter driveline angles?
Lift springs or blocks?
SOA/SUA
I mean Ujoints are a very likely culprit but they are easy to check.

I have also had a loose skid plate/crossmember make that same noise is a chevy. With the CJ crossmember/skid plate/ integrated transmission suppoort set up Id hope it aint loose.
