So I went and bought a 2005 Tahoe with 86k miles on it last week because I wanted something nicer and more reliable. It is pretty mint.

Until today on my way home. Some guy pulled out in front of me and in my avoiding him I put it through the ditch. All I managed to do was bend the bumper and tear the lower valance off, but still. :(

Guy pulled over and gave me his info and said he would pay for it, so he was very apologetic and cool about it, but still. He was in a Subaru and could have easily bolted and I couldn't have done crap, but he stopped and manned up.

Was pretty scary, I was rolling about 45 and had my 3yo in the truck.

Glad everyone was safe. Pretty awesome that the guy came back and owned up to his mistake, not many people would do that these days.

yeah that was a man thing to do right there!! glad you and the little one are ok!!

scared to death!!!!!

Well, I priced out the parts to fix the truck and told the guy and he is going to get me the money. I figure I'll fix it myself and save him a few bucks, he was honest enough to stop so figure that was worth something. Going to put it back together tomorrow morning.

To me, that's the way things should happen. Only thing better, would be if the guy said, hey, I'm no good with wrenches, but I'd be happy to give you a hand then.
