My good ol 1978 Craftsman GT18 bit the dust a couple weeks ago so I decided to buy a new mower, until I came across this. A 1977 Allis Chalmers 720. It has a 20 hp Onan two cyl, 60" deck, front and rear PTO, hydraulic 3 point hitch, and hydraulic deck. It also has a unique feature that I've never seen before. It's a 3 speed and it's hydrostatic so it has 3 forward and 3 reverse hydrostatic gears. And it only has 874 hours.

I've been driving by the thing 2 or 3 times a week for as long as I can remember. I bought it from the second owner, who bought it in 1991. The cool thing is the man that bought it new used to hunt with my grandpa, so I know it's been well taken care of. The darker spot on the hood is where I tried waxing a spot on it. Looks to have been repainted once and the paint is in great shape. Just needs a good waxing all over.

thats a cool rig, my grass needs cut if you wanna try it out. My bronco is starting to get over taken. lol

Haha I can't wait to mow Saturday just so I can run it. I also found a conversion kit to put a 23 hp V-twin briggs on it on the internet. If the old Onan lets go, that's the route I'll be headed.

I wish my mowere had tires like that. I've been thinking of putting ATV tires on mine.

I'm looking for another set of wheels for the rear to put duals on it so I can mow the bank in front of my house. Everybody that's seen it says "those tires will tear up your yard" but I've been mowing it with a 135 MF with a finish mower and you can't even tell it wasn't with a regular lawn mower. If you spin it'll leave a hole but as long as you don't spin there's no problem.

If you got some for the rear of a sport atv so the tread section is flat all the way across I think it would work great.

Like a royal dumbass I sold my 72 Sears Suburban ss16 to a friend. Now I can't manage to pry it out of his hands for any amount of money.

That is a neat old AC.

I have a 78 Craftsman GT18. It's in excellent condition. Still has the original tires on it. It has an engine issue. Not sure the problem. It's running rough, has no power, and the front cylinder is running hot. I'd like to find a good home for it. I rebuilt the carb and put the new brass float in it and that didn't fix the problem. I think it may need rings.
