This is my new toy 79 cj7 304 3 speed.

I dont know if need to cut it up or not this is the real mileage on it.

I have owend it for 5 years. It has set in a field for 4 years. With no tarp or cover on it. So its in great shape for the model.
 
no way would i cut it up,i would retstore it and use as a daily driver you can pick up a cj to cut up anywhere in a lot worse shape that you would'nt feel bad for cutting it up
 
holey huge shackle bat man......You might wanna lower that thing back down and do some trimming. It looks like it will be pretty sitting that high
 
IF, you run that shackle weld a spacer in the center for some reinforcement and to slow down deflection. With that shackle your gonna get some hidious road wondering. They are bad enough stock, but that way is going to be near impossible to keep in one lane at 55 plus. Shackles like that are real easy to tweak sideways on the trail.

This one is for the woods only. But im ging to cut them down and do like you said weld in a spacer in them. Thinks
 
*IF* that is a 5kmile original CJ restored it would prolly bring in the 80s at a major auction
