Why so much tube? I mean yeah Ill be the first to admit it looks pretty badass, but do you really need to waste all that tube and time on something like that when half the tube would work? You also have to think, when you put all those intricate little bends and add pieces of tube here and there, it makes it twice as hard to make the other side match pefectly........which ranks pretty high with me. Just suggs. though. Good luck with whatever you do!

looks sweet, but way too much tube IMO... When i make sets for nissans it takes about 24 feet of tubing and that is a simple design... it just starts to be expensive...

Expense is not an issue. I am in school for Welding Technology and this will count as a Fabrication class project. Meaning that the materials will come out of my school fund. So thats not an issue. I agree with the too much tube thing. Yeah its complex, but since it is for one of the three main projects we do a semester it can't be easy. I have to do a complex blueprint for the project so a good bit of planning will go into it.

Feel free to do your own rendition based off the picture. Thanks guys.

well thats cool then, its always nice to build without a worry of a budget... It will be hard to make the doors exact on each side though...

Yeah, I felt the same way but if the cost and time is not an issue I say goforit. Now, one more question. I just went from full steel doors to half because of weight. What are they going to weigh. thanks john

I don't know how much they are going to weigh. I havn't made the final decision on material yet.

Two variations.

They look good. If you could get some 1.5 with a thinner wall, that would shed some weight. You could use .083 and be fine for those, they shouldn't ever need to take much of an impact, and even still would be pretty strong.

Or if you could use 1.25" tube would be a god choice.

I like all the designs, but the first and last ones would be alot harder to make.

They shouldnt take to much of an impact, but it is my safety, so they ARE going to be able to when I am done.

I think it is up to how you like to drive, me I like to rest my arm on the door, so that would play a big part in how I build them. I think it has to work before it has to look good just my $.02

But the top bar makes it not so traditional.

Plus it would make a great arm rest.
