My wife is in the hospital need your prayers!!

Still doing prayers. Have the diagnosed the problem yet? I mean 2 weeks? They ought to know something!

Yes she has ARDS Adult respiratory distress syndrome They say it could take 3 more weeks in the ICU

What your wife is going through has already been dealt with. All those years ago. Sickness and death died on the cross. Trust in the Lord, cling boldy to your faith and know that the devil has no power over you. I stand on these beliefs and fully rebuke this attack against your wife in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Have an update....Jennifer has been moved to Duke. Please pray for her and Randy.

Update on my wife

She has been the hospital a month now. For weeks she just stayed about the same. We have a long way to go yet but

Your and thousands of others prayers are being heard. She had a lung test Thursday she went 1 hour the week before all she could stand was 5 min. Than Friday she went 6 hours and then they stopped to let her lungs rest. last night she did a 20 hour stretch. All said this is excellent news of course the Doc has to add Cautiously Optimistic but I will take it.

Thank you all again. and I will update as conditions change

Some information about this condition she has. There are around 10 people at duke right now with the same issues. It is mostly
young people it affects . For some reason a unlucky few who get the Flu mainly H1 N1 , there immune system goes haywire
not only attacking the Flu Virus but also the lungs them selves . This causes a whole lot of infection and inflammation.
The lungs basically stop working. There is a 29 year old man up there and a 32 year old man both were in good health before the Flu. I am telling you this because the only defense you have is the Flu shot and it is not 100 % but it is a good defense.

If you have a loved one or you get the Flu then start experiencing shortness of breath really high fever. Don't play around
with it . It can go south real fast if you are one of the "unlucky ones" and you don't know until it hits you. I would go to the biggest hospital in the area . Based on my experience Do not mess around with the small town hospitals if you can help it. They do not have what it takes to treat this ARDS condition if it gets to that. Duke says the average hospital stay for this is 8 to 12 weeks of course this includes some rehab for the lungs and body. Then there out patient rehab . all said my wife is looking at the better part of 2014 trying to over this.

Neither my wife or me has ever got the flue shot. The Doctor is pretty sure it would have helped her. I got mine a week ago

Have you got Yours? You may want to reconsider.

Good to see you last night Randy. Hope you enjoyed dinner and talking jeeps and everything except what's going on. Keeping you in prayer and will see you again soon!

I enjoyed that a lot Phil it is good to clear my mind. Sometimes I don't know how I keep it together. Sometimes I don't but
I reel myself by in pretty quick . Thanks to all of you posting on here it helps. We don't always agree on NC 4x4 but
I believe most of us stick together when it counts. This really is a great place for me right now . Thanks again for the thoughts, prayers, and concern.

Randy, I finished the book I mentioned at the hospital. It was excellent. Tonight I started a new one by John Eldredge called "Fathered by God". I've read another book by this author at the suggestion of Mike Morrison. Great books I must say. Anyways, I read something that stood out and made me think of you and wanted to share. The book talks about God being the Father in our lives and how naturally as men, we seek approval and initiation from other role models. With good fathers and roll models in short supply the world has become lost. The particular thing that stood out was talking about trials and struggles we face as men and how we handle them.

Here is what I read that stood out

"As for God, I believe what he is primarily up to in a boy's or man's life is actually initiating him. So much of what we misinterpret as hassles, trials, or screw-ups on our part are in fact God fathering us, taking us through something to strengthen us, or heal us, or dismantle some unholy thing in us. In other words, initiate us-a distinctly masculine venture."

These words stood out to me and I instantly thought of you. God is taking you and Jennifer thru this time as part of his plan. It will come together and soon be understood, it will make you stronger, your love for her will be stronger than ever and you will cherish every moment. And you will always remember how much you leaned on God thru this time. I continue to pray, and have a strong belief that she will recover and you will take her home. Sorry to ramble, but really felt the strong urge to share that with you.
Head up buddy, God has a plan!
