Randy, I finished the book I mentioned at the hospital. It was excellent. Tonight I started a new one by John Eldredge called "Fathered by God". I've read another book by this author at the suggestion of Mike Morrison. Great books I must say. Anyways, I read something that stood out and made me think of you and wanted to share. The book talks about God being the Father in our lives and how naturally as men, we seek approval and initiation from other role models. With good fathers and roll models in short supply the world has become lost. The particular thing that stood out was talking about trials and struggles we face as men and how we handle them.
Here is what I read that stood out
"As for God, I believe what he is primarily up to in a boy's or man's life is actually initiating him. So much of what we misinterpret as hassles, trials, or screw-ups on our part are in fact God fathering us, taking us through something to strengthen us, or heal us, or dismantle some unholy thing in us. In other words, initiate us-a distinctly masculine venture."
These words stood out to me and I instantly thought of you. God is taking you and Jennifer thru this time as part of his plan. It will come together and soon be understood, it will make you stronger, your love for her will be stronger than ever and you will cherish every moment. And you will always remember how much you leaned on God thru this time. I continue to pray, and have a strong belief that she will recover and you will take her home. Sorry to ramble, but really felt the strong urge to share that with you.
Head up buddy, God has a plan!
