would you take 6,000 for my yota if it was yours?
There is some interest in it locally and I am tired of the "never ending" mntce. and building. I haven't touched it in months but I still like it even as I hate it.

the bad
It has two broken shock bolts that could use new mounts out back and has a flat tire (why?), leaky cases, needs knuckle rebuild, needs brake service on rear, patch up hole in the floor b/c of flat belly and some exhaust would be nice.

the good
when it's together it does awesome and I really like the "feel" of it when wheeling. Its super stable, lightweight and performs great.

the other option
tear it apart and swap the whole drivetrain into a new buggy chassis with links f/r and some new goodies. this is my ultimate goal.

here's the truck for ya'll who don't know me:

Would you get $6k for it with no drivetrain? I say take the body off it and turn IT into a buggy. But then again, there's that never ending fab and maintanence again...

no way, 6 grand as is and start from scratch.
I'm leaning towards building a buggy with this rigs parts.

this is my first "big" build and it's kinda hard to tear it down and sell all my work and buildup memories... man that sounds REALLY gay! LOL

I'd take 6 large and run with it, thats a good price for a stock powertrain 80s yota build from what I've seen. Now that you've done one, you know what to do the next time. If you're like me, building them is just as fun as wheeling anyway

I think I'ma part it and build a buggy with it's drivetrain. thanks for helping me make up my mind guys.

I can't bring myself to sell my rig for 6k, it's worth more than that to me........ that's just not much $$$ y'know? BUT!
I have made my mind up. As soon as we buy the house and I get the tools I need (bender, notcher, tablesaw, air compressor and tools) I'm going to part the yota and use all of its drivetrain for the buggy. I can then sell the yota frame, body, cage and all that's attached to it for some cash. It should bring enough to link the buggy.

I can wheel the samurai if I want and I have eliminated all my debt except for one credit card (only $750) so money isn't AS big of an issue as it has been with my new promotion and working 55hrs a week.

So I'm looking for either an abandoned buggy project set up for dual cases and 22R around 105" WB or a new chassis on the east coast. don't care 2 or 4 seater as long as it looks good. I might just try to build my own chassis but I am not ready for that yet (noob)

oh yeah- I hate Ftoy's so thanks for not mentioning that. ;D
