trying to plan a trip nags head to visit a buddy of mine that lives 20 minutes from there. If there wasnt going to be 6-8 of us going we'd just stay with him. Does anyone have any decent hotels that are in the area that arent going to cost an arm and a leg? doesn't have to be on the beach (i dont think). Or possibly a rental house or condo something of that lines. going at the end of june. Heck i can deal with a hotel thats not in nags head but in the area. all i wanna do is surf fish and hangout with my buddies. my buddy lives in currituck so if there is a place around there it would be okay to, but from what he said its just a little town with really nothing going on.

Well the tarheel motel is the cheapest place there...I've gotten it for $55/night during the summer on priceline before...but you will stick to the sheets and the floor and don't be surprised if there is a body outline somewhere in the room. Alright, wasn't all that bad...but it is straight out of the 70's. The sand spur isn't all that bad. Depending on how long you'll be out there...it'll be tough to find a house for less than a week. With that number of people, it could be worth trying to find a house or two...usually the box houses over near Jockey's Ridge and the Wright Bros museum are pretty cheap and clean. My personal favorite though, is to tent camp at Oregon Inlet.

We stayed 2 or 3 nights at the Tarheel last yr. The place is quite old but it was clean, cheap and the ac blew cold. We were only in the rooms long enough to sleep so that's all that mattered to us.
