Yup my first thought, 2CV. Must have been imported.
Very simple machines. Very, very basic, the bare minimum to make a car "go". IIRC the "gauges" consist only of a speedo and gas or something like that.
Cool cars but these days I couldn't imagine driving one on the highway w/o fearing for my life.
There's an episode of Wheeler Dealers on Velocity where they go through one pretty good.
