I drink a lot of beer...wait, that sounded bad. Here's some of my favs but not a comprehensive list.

#1 - Asheville Brewing Ninja Porter
#2 - Highlands Mocha Stout
#3 - Highlands St. Teresa's Pale Ale
#4 - Pisgah Pale
#5 - Wicked Weed Heresy Brown
 
Forgot my favorite beer brewed right here in the piedmont. MINE!

All this beer talk made me go out and try 2 new ones. Oskar Blues Dale's pale ale and Old Chub. The Old chub was pretty awesome...the pale ale was good too.

Everything wicked weed does is amazingly good, we take trips to ashville just for that bewery, they have ruined triple c noda and bird song for us.
 
No. There are way too many different kinds of beers out there to determine the best brewery. One brewery could have mastered the Pale ale, but then their IPA is just okay, verses another brewery which mastered the IPA, but their Pale Ale sucks.... They need to have this championship more defined, such as which has the best IPA, the best Pale Ale, best Pilsner, or the best Stout. Just my 2 cents.
 
I'd push Carolina Brewery and Duck Rabbit way further up. And even though it's more of a brew house, than it is a distributor, I'd put OBX brewing station ahead alot of those breweries.
 
I'm a porter/stout guy so Noda and Duck Rabbit are my favorite on that list. Little surprised not to see Triple C on the list.
