I got stationed here a little bit less than a year ago (in fayetteville ) and i still havent found any good yards.

the ones i went to in atlanta were great. 1 dollar admission and they gave you a wheelbarrow and off you went. the yards were something like 3 sq miles and the prices were posted up front.

anything like that close to fayetteville? I need some parts and i got to get to a yard.

There's one like that in clayton, but it's 2 bucks admission. It's called LKQ and is on 70 in clayton.

how is that place? ive been by it at least a million times but have never had a chance to stop. do they have a lot of a certain kind of vehicle or do they just have a lot of whatever?

Theres a few not far from Fayetteville on is Mcleods off 87 in Cameron, then there are 2 off 401 haven't been to either of them yet as I have been going mainly to Pull Apart in Charlotte and LKQ in Clayton.

do you know if these places are the pull a part type or are they the "grumpy dude behind the counter who wont let you in to the yard to go look around" type.

I used the pull a part yards in atlanta, thats the one i was referring to.
how is LKQ versus pull a part?

LKQ IS a pull a part yard, $2 in the door, grab your wheel barrow and shread to your hearts content, they'll even let you bring in a portable air compressor ( no torches ) to aid in your thrash.

there are a few A frames to aid in pulling engines all hulks are set on stands
LKQ is even open on SUndays.

THere is Also Jackson Auto salvage on Poole Rd in Knightdale, they do a pull a part deal as well.

50% off

LKQ is having a 50% off sale through mon.26th. There charging $5 admission. Going to get a radiator for my truck.reg 49.99 + 10 core. for 30$

found the website. . . if any of you guys from the fayetteville area want to take a road trip up there on a a saturday, we could carpool and help each other pull heavy shit (axles, xfer cases, etc) and gas would be half as much . . .

depending on what we would be pulling i have a 84 suburban and a single cab ranger. . .

I was planning on going up to LKQ in a few weeks I have a Ram Quad Cab

My lady sold her Lincoln Town Car to McClouds when she totaled it. The guys were real cool and let us wander around the yard. While we were there looking at her car, I asked about Cherokees and he said he had quite a few out there and I was free to look about and see if I could find what I needed.
I will be going back when I decide to upgrade my axles

They are not far from us

hey rob. . wanna go together? i am waiting for my next child to arrive so i cant be 100% on it but it sounds good to me.

I am about to head down to Myrtle Beach Tuesday and I'll be there until the 2nd. The 7th I have a show in Garner and the 8th I hope to be Hickory bound with Slick and his trailer. After that... I'm free anytime to drop by those guys and take a look-see.

Plus, I will be getting my Jeep back on the road very very soon! Slick and Shane already got her ready for me. lll I got to do is get them damn tags the state requires...

Sounds good to me just not sure when I'm heading up there yet. Need to plan out what the Heep needs next.

LKQ is decent, the yard is rather organized (broken down to imports, chrysler, ford, and GM) and have a pretty good collection. As far as a junkyard goes, its a little on the small side IMO.

There is a place called Youngs off 231 near spring hope, the place is big and have all kinds of stuff. No cover, just check in and wander, but depending on who you talk to, can be expensive.
