Never heard of this until I saw a link for a news story.

$32.00 for a metal shear. I'm sure it'll go up has 6 days left. I found it via click bait on a news story.

If I had the room for it in my Garage I'd bid on it. Time to move........

I won some 50 cal cans on govdeals or govplanet. When I picked them up I had about 25 extra cans.

Some good deals were had there back before it went online. Back when all the schools were getting rid of shop classes and dumping the equipment.

I bought a 15 passenger E350 for $150 from there once in high school. Now that everyone innernets, I don't find those kinds of auction sites really offer too many 'deals' any more.

People are idiots. I checked out the SC surplus for boats. Old hunk of of shit military boat, starting bid is $1.00, seven bids and it’s up to $10,200. No such thing as deals on those sites anymore unless it’s something oddball that nobody wants.

What's even worse is people don't pay attention to the sales tax, buyer premiums and if it's titled the extra $50-100 bullshit fees. The amount of people I see buy old iffy used shit for more than it would cost new every auction... will definitely be an upside to the next recession

I've quit going to the local auctions. Literally everything goes for new or near new prices. Bonkers.

The first three CUCV trucks I bought came from gov deals and got em all for less than 2K.I bought three Freightliner buses w 6 BT's in em and they were around 4K,drove two of em home.Everybody knows now and the deals are long gone.

There's gonna be a surplus auction Sat in the next county and they have several CUCV Blazers,Navy/Air force Suburbans and some Hummers.I'm debating on whether I should go or not.Im figuring it will go for insane money. They have some Crown Vics and they use to go for crusher price before the derby guys started using them.Id like to have one to do a CV swap on my 84 F-150.

For some reason, the Police Interceptor style Crown Vics have taken over for the Caprice for Donk style rides in the inner cities. Doesn't seem to matter the color of your skin, but they are buying them up like they are Rufies at a Drake concert. I've never understood the idea of buying a former cop car, dropping 20+ inch rims and stretched bicycle tires on them and cruising around with the turning radius of a Mississippi Steamboat. Like, didn't you already spend enough time in the backseat of that patrol car, that now you gotta buy one?

Cleetus McFarland on YouTube will be the reason they’re all gone soon. He buys them by the dozens from auction, puts in a cage and a small shot of nitrous, and uses them for all his YouTube celebrity friends to race. It’s pretty entertaining. Lol

I wish they would go back to the days of calling to get an auction listing inventory mailed to you, 125 pages of poor descriptions typed out in typical Gov font and having to research every NSN to actually know what it is. No pictures. Could buy stuff really cheap back then. Bought 5 151 A2 Jeeps for $350 total with one of them being a FAV TOW missle launcher version used by special forces in desert storm.

Ugh, those were the days where ya could get good stuff for cheap

Wasnt it you that had to cut a dozen Jeep frames?

Yeah. Had to cut up a bunch of M151A2s but did it very carefully so they could be put back together.

At first they wanted to drive over them with a dozer. Then they wanted me to cut them into 4 pieces and cut the driveshafts and A arms. The rules state “make inoperable”. They already were inoperable but we settled on a happy medium of just cutting in half. :D

Just checked and shear is only at $380. Good price but I'm still thinking it will be 80% or more of new.???

Years ago I use to go up north and buy parts.Typical trip was leave on Fri morning and come home early Sun morning (2-3) AM.Typically 1200 or so miles by the time I made all my stops. Many times I chewed a whole pack of gum on the way home just to stay awake.I got the rudest and longest lasting flavor I could find.Since the heart attack Tonya won't let me run alone like that anymore.

I didnt go to the sale today.Ive bought quite a bit lately and space is getting tight so I stayed at the house.A friend of mine was there and he said a very rusty non running Blazer went for $1800 and a rusty running one went for $2700.Suburbans went to 3K or better running or not.He bid a non running Hummer to $4500 and it sold for $5500.The running Hummer went for 14,7.I didnt think to ask about the CV's.The $500 Mil truck days are long gone.

Deals are much better when the weather is crappy. Today was not a crappy weather day.
