A big thanks today to jeepinmatt aka Matt.
We needed a slice of log to use as a cakeplate for daughter #2 upcoming wedding.
I remembered the big log that Matt posted in random pics.
A few PMs and a couple of hours driving and we came away with a nice piece he donated to the cause,

22" diameter and we have 2 just in case. It wasn't the one he posted, but it was perfect for what we needed.

Did this one on the woodmizer. We talked about cutting a disc off the log with the chainsaw, but I already had a firewood round from the same log, so I just set it on the sawmill, squared up the top, and sliced off two discs. Straighter and squarer than I could have sawed it with the chainsaw. Heck, it’s probably within a sixteenth on thickness and parallelism.

That’s my best guess based on the internet pictures I could find. Same bark, and orange hue under the bark.
