NC4X4 ride?

Hokie Hi! (Class of '09 here...)

I'm thinking about coming up later this summer for a long weekend. I've heard some things about the access to the Butt Mountain Overlook, as well as some other Jeep-ish trails in the area.
 
i keep buying things to go wheeling in.....

i bought a winch 3 rigs ago...havent needed to install it on one yet.

It is classified as a road so yes it has to be insured. The National Forest guy that patrols the area is a huge stickler. He asked for all of our licenses and insurance when we were lining up to head out one time. A great ride with great views. Only two tricky spots to deal with on the trail.

My 79 burb won't pass as legal in this great state! If two seats open me and my lady would love to come ride my 94 burb may make it up there it's my dd tho so I can't break it lol
 
I watched a few videos and seems my suburban won't be going up that trail unless there's byways! It does have a timex locker out of 98 z71 but I feel like rocker damage will happen even if careful!? Enlighten me if I'm wrong tho bc I'll be there if I can keep from destroying my dd! Or if anyone is up for two strangers from va riding along I'll bring :beer:!
 
Well I'm sad to say I'm not making this ride at Potts can't get out of work and I'm rig less I'm shooting for Harlan ride tho hopefully I'll get shit ready by then! Hope everyone had a good 4th

Why not drive the carokee in your avatar? Should be an easy drive up Craigs Creek from B'burg.
 
My jeeps in Abingdon va and needs trans work to move! Yeah I was gonna bring my DD burb but don't think it'll have rocker panels on it after Potts trail it's not lifted! 79 burb is illegal as all get out and I need to tune carb on it before it on the mtn
 
I will make on of the rides this year come hell or high water!!!!
