Who was it in the Forsyth ER on Friday? (I am thinking it was Reid / BigRedxyz from on here that I met the weekend before maybe?)

I know I recognized them / saw them come in and meet someone (signficant other I guess) and she had a Carolina Rock Runner shirt on.

Ok, for the other...keep my wife in your prayers and thoughts folks. She is 34, but had a stroke (or multiple) on Thursday, we are in Forsyth Hosp now.

Good part is we are expecting 100% recovery according to our Doctor and we will start rehab tomorrow. (Regain use of right arm and leg, thankfully no speech or vision issues)

RatLabGuy, are you in the 'system' here or more at Baptist? Might share names / etc, folks and doctors you would know and recognize!

Dang bro, sorry to hear this! If there's anything I can do for you, you have my numbers... I work just down the road!

Tell her we're pulling for a quick & complete recovery!

Damn Sam... we'll be thinking about her... VERY glad to hear she's going to make a full recovery..

You have my thoughts and prayers Sam!

Sam,

I am sorry to hear about your wife, but I am glad to hear she is going to make a full recovery.

Best wishes on your wife's recovery. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Sam,

Sorry to hear about your wife.

The rehab will be hard, but the more she does the better the results. It does take time, and it will require some patience. My father in law is back to work and doing home improvements after a stroke of his own last year.

Also, be prepared to fight to get her the care the doctors recommend. The NC Insurance commission can help if you don't get the proper treatment for her.

Sam, I am in Radiology at WFU/Baptist. Unfortunately I'm a research/PhD guy and not really "in" som uch w/ the MD crowd here. The truth is, Forsyth and Baptist have their own guys that read the scans, and they operate seperately. It's the Novant vs WFU Medical competitive thing, in fact our guys are not allowed to collaborate except under special circumstances.
That said, I spoke w/ one of the Neuroradiology guys here, and he said the Rad folks at Forsyth are pretty good, in fact he trained some of them.
Do you know what kinds of scans she has had? Surely a CT, an MRI too? Do an angiogram? Any indication of the source of the blockage?

If the loss is only some motor ocntrol, and they already have such a positive prognosis, then that is definitely good word.

Ssm, sorry to hear that. We will keep you guys in our prayers. It will be a rough road to recovery...but your a Jeeper....Lock it in and go!

my thoughts and prayers sam... that's good it'll be a 100% recovery. my mom had a stroke a few years ago but fortunately recovered 100% as well.

sitting in a waiting rm for various tests on my treo. thx for prayers folks.

she is in good hands.
