According to the FS the work days at Uwharrie are the 3rd Saturday of every month, putting our next work day at May 22nd. There will be a post in the future trips section but wanted to get an idea of how many people are interested first. I am also working with Rob on getting some stickers together, and will post more on that when I hear back from him. I haven't heard back from Terry on any of the heavier work (guard railing etc), but you can be guaranteed lighter work such as trash clean up etc will be done.

So who all is interested in showing up for another Saturday of trail work?

How about this, Hot Dogs at half price to the volenteers! Every thing else regular price. I know it's not much but I'm just trying to do my little part. Opinions?

I just got an message from Terry about the work day and there is a correction on the date. It will be May 22nd technically the 4th Saturday of the month. So we have 2 weeks to get a head count and get the group together. Who is up for it?

:cool:Weather permiting, I'm still up for it! A deal is a deal!

How about two for the price of one and all the tap water we can drink!

I would like to be there I have a 2wd truck leather gloves and sunscreen, do I need anything else?

CTB will be attending the workday, working on the BMPs on our adopted trail Sawmill. I'll see you guys at the Hunt Camp. Hope to see a good turnout from NC4x4 also :)

Just found out I can't make this day. My sister decided to get married for the second time. <sigh> So I'll be doing the family thing the entire day.

OK OK I'll do two for the price of one! you guys drive a hard bargain! How about sending a scout to me about 15 or 20 minutes early and I'll be prepared and take care of ya pronto! Some body let me know in a PM or a call on thursday the 20th and I can guesstimate how much food to make sure I don't run out for the volenteers. I wanted to feed the volenteers before the forest opened but my permit was held up, maybe next season.

Right now we are only looking at 4-5 people going on this work day. I know cleaning the trails and doing other minor work may not be as exciting as putting up guard railing/heavier work to some but it still needs to be done. So if you don't have any plans Saturday and need something to do, come on up and have some fun wheeling while also helping keep the trails clean.

So far we have a deal on hot dogs thanks to Terry, which just may be made a little sweeter by Shawn (through NC4X4). But I will let him post about that. It doesn't look like I will have the sticker deal worked out with Rob by the time of the work day. But everyone that attends will be put on the list for the stickers. We may be able to get a small batch done paid for by NC4X4, which I am sure no one will turn down a free sticker.

I am going to post up a thread in the rides section for this soon. So lets have another great turn out and take another step forward to help keep our trails clean and open.

I've worked it out with Terry (Your Hot Dog Guy) to have NC4X4 cover the rest of the hot dog bill. You'll still be responsible for buying your own drinks, snacks, etc.

It's not much, just a token of appreciation for the folks that are going to be out there working to keep the trails open.

I made phone calls to Terry (Savery) and Janet (Becker) and got answering machines on both. But if I am not mistaken camping arrangements will more than likely be at Arrowhead again. In the sight chance that Arrowhead is full/nothing can be arranged camping will be at Badin Lake.

So free hot dogs, free stickers, all for the great cause of keeping our trails clean and OPEN.

Uh, what kind of stickers ya giving away? Free trail grub, let's hear it for NC4x4 for pitching in and helping out! I think that's great! This is the first time this has happened so how many are going to be there to work and have a dog or four? What clubs are going to be represented? And how many clubs? Let's hear some responces for NC 4x4!

This is the design I showed to Rob:

It will of course be the size of a trail pass. I just have not heard back from Rob yet about covering the cost of a free batch. Worst case scenario is people may have to shell out the $2.99 for one. We will see though, nothing is written in stone yet.

Nice!

Man guys wish I could be there for this one to but I have a NASCAR buddy that is a crew chief and he got me free tickets for that weekend!

:flipoff2:Tell u what, I'll take the tickets and you take the cart for the weekend! just trying to help.

Draider I'll buy a couple of those when I see ya!
