Need a door lock:

Once again some looser degenerate decided that I needed to have my door lock even more screwed up than it already is. Last night some time someone jammed a screw driver into my driver side door lock and opened it. Took a crappy GPS I never use and a cigarette lighter power inverter I got at walmart. don't really care about the stuff seeing as it's only materialistic but I'm pissed off about the damage. So I'm basically wanting to know if any of you guys can help me get this lock fixed. plz let me know.

I'm basically just going to take everything out of it tonight when I get home and start leaving it unlocked with a note saying that nothing of value is in the car.

98 Cherokee and I live in a townhouse to which I park maybe 25 yards from my back door.
 
Somebody did the same thing to my dodge when I was parked outside of Bass Pro Shops in Charlotte a few weeks ago. We were visiting for the weekend so I had all of our family things for a weekend away from the house. All he took was an old blackberry. But F'd up the door lock just the same.
 
Are you going to replace it or try to fix it?
 
Honestly I have half a mind to take everything of value out and take the doors off. This way I don't have to worry about it. At this point I'm not sure what to do since I really can't afford to fix it or replace it. It just sickens me that you can't even lock your car doors to keep stuff safe anymore. You hear it all the time "make sure you lock your doors when you get out" but in reality WTF is the point if some douche is just going to use a screw driver to break into it. The sad part about all of this is that is nothing that can be done about it.
 
i have a door lock. i dont use my doors. you come remove them i'll give you them with a key, just dont steal my jeep hahaha lol.

don't say that, we did the same thing at work, we always leave the doors unlocked and we made a note "we took everything out" so they smashed the window from inside out, left the door open all weekend, and knifed the seats.
