I am in the market for a SUPER bright flashlight. Our backyard is pretty dark and have been having something coming into our yard and we don't have a flashlight that can shine bright enough to light up chit. I am looking for something that is around $50 or less. I found some sky ray knock off flashlights on amazon that have good reviews....would like something that can serve as a flashlight for around the house with multiple settings, but I want it to be able to light up our backyard and have a fairly long beam of light

Any recommendations?

I love this one. It is 750 lumens, it comes with a wall charger and a car charger and obviously is rechargeable . I bought like 4 right after Christmas for $20 but it looks like they have marked them back up to $49.95. My kids drag them down to the lake and they get left outside all the time.I can literally spot light trees across the lake from me at that is an easy 200 yards. I've never had an issue with one, but if I did, they also of course come with Wal mart's more than generous return policy.

Was looking at some of those monster flashlights...holy high price batman!
That one from Walmart looks pretty good. Want a nice solid beam of light as well... LED preferred

I'm partial to my Streamlight Survivor LED light. If I can see through a smoke-filled house with it, the average user should be fine with it. Be ready to spend some money, though. Oh, and get the rechargeable version.

X2 on streamlight, but not for under $50. I have a couple stinger and i think an ultra stinger, all from streamlight and they are BRIGHT!!!

Oh, and at first I thought this thread was "I need a fleshlight" I was alitlle afraid to open it.

Look at the Costco FEIT 500 LUMEN adjustable beam.

$35 a pair and the same chip set as a $250 light.

For an all around cheap and bright very useful flashlight you can't beat a Larrys light. They have a clip to hang it from a shirtcollar or waist of pants and fit comfortably in a pants pocket. They're about $10, hold 3 AAA batteries (cheap) and have 8 led bulbs. They are also pretty sturdy, I've had one for 2 yrs and it still works fine after being dropped repeatedly and used at work.

This made me laugh!

But this is the light I am looking at. I know its not a real Sky Ray, but it still has pretty good reviews and fits the bill

I have one of those Kobalt flashlights from Lowes, super bright, has two battery packs, one is AA and the other is rechargeable and comes w a optionable snake light type attachment, and earth magnet base.

I got a Husky 20MM candlepower spotlight...as easy as carrying a 4 or 6 cell Maglight (probably easier) and I can signal for alien spce craft if I wanted. Or I have a $40 Dorcy 5MM candlepower handheld unit. Should still be able to get those from sears. I actually use the Dorcy more than any of my other lights. The head pivots and sits flat (which negates any bulk drawbacks for me)...ideal for working on/under my rigs. You won't signal alien aircraft, but you'll probably be able to get a 737 mid flight.

I bought 4 of these recently. Super freaking bright. The battery description is incorrect on their website, I run 2 CR123's in mine. Has five modes, which is great for when you don't need 1000Lm you can put it on medium or low and save some battery.
The 18650 is correct, but you can usually use 2 CR123's where an 18650 would run. However, 18650's are cheap, rechargeable, and will give better voltage and longer runtime than 2 CR123's...

Not really in your price range, but one of those "you get what you pay for" things...
A friend of mine makes these lights for mountain biking: http://bikepasa.com/index.php/forums/default-topic/1926-sl2k-sales-thread-now-1200-lumens
They are completely awesome as far as light output and battery life. He rates them at 1200Lumens, but it's the same hardware that many companies rate at 1500+Lumens. My front yard is about 1/2acre and 140ft deep, and I can light up the entire yard without moving the light.

Also, I do all of the metalworking on them, and can promise its a top notch product made by a couple fellow NC people.

This, it's a fawkng flashlight, not a business venture, can occasionally catch these lights on sale at Costco for $25 for the pair, I've bought several sets for coworkers, including my boss, tool guy wasn't happy.
Clean the batter contacts with a pencil eraser when you change batteries, they work well, and just like all the really expensive ones, they'll eat batteries ( first set comes with in package).
Last I saw they were Duracell branded, same light just etched.

I took your advice, & ordered 3 of them. Even recommended tmart to "Edward Jones" [looking for a laptop]. I e-mailed tmart 3 days ago, inquiring about my order, that I placed 3 weeks back. They have received payment. 2 days later, I was notified that my order was being filled from the HONG KONG Warehouse, I might take 10 - 15 days, to arrive. [already past that!] If I don't receive it in "45" days, contact them for re-shipment,or refund! I Don't like that One BIT! I've bought a lot from Amazon, & always have it in 3-5 days. I'll never deal with tmart again!
