Need a good Machine shop

I have a friend in Boone who is in need of a machine shop. His Subaru engine blew chunks and he needs it checked out and cylinder walls cleaned up, maybe bored, maybe sleeved. Anywhere on that end of the state is reasonable if they're good.

Just make sure you are very clear on what you need.
Don't be in a hurry. There's some shops in Wilkesboro, Lenoir, and Johnson City.

Be very clear? Are they good? Are they not willing to work with the customer? My friends only have minor automotive skills, and don't know all the technical jargon.
