That’s pretty standard operating procedure with any low MOQ item. Higher volume, lower price/unit. And then I’d imagine with your particular requirements, it would be similar to when I was in aerospace. A bolt with an FAA stamp of approval is $100, even though you could go to Ace Hardware and get the exact same bolt for a quarter. Pharma was the Same case for my chem labs, FDA approved equipment was 10x more expensive than the same exact item in an MSC catalog. Those certs are expensive. But I’m gonna assume in the mattress industry, their margins are merely there to cover their losses.
