Hey all,

My buddy is getting ready to purchase a 1998 Jeep Wrangler that is lifted and has all of the goodies on it. I was wondering if there is a shop I could recommend to him where he could get a thorough inspection of the lift components as well as the mechanical side of things.

He will have the Jeep this weekend and will be able to drop it off for a few hours.

Thank you!

Is he wanting it done this weekend or can he wait until the work week?

If he can wait Id check out Andy @Tarheel 4WD Center

If it was built 10 years ago, I can guarantee it is worn out. I did the suspension on mine in 2004ish, and have probably only put 30-40k miles on it since then (and less than 1000 in the past 5 years) and it is toast :D

The mileage since then has only been roughly ~25k to 30k. The Jeep sat in a garage for a 4 year period and the last few years the mileage has not changed much (only driven on weekends). This is why I want someone to check over everything for him and give him an accurate / educated opinion on what the Jeep needs.

Might still be good then. They guy who drove mine beat it pretty hard on the street and offroad.

I will talk with my buddy and see what his availability is. Is the Andy you are referring to Andy Zuber? I believe he built this Jeep about 10 years ago.

That's be him

Took a look at this Jeep yesterday. Saved the potential buyer a good bit of hassle/headache. Glad we could help. Jeep was definitely not built by me though...
