I have a 83 Jeep CJ7, and am looking to install some Larger axles. I have a front Dana 44 high pinion out of a 77 Ford F150 and a Dana 60 out of a 1980 F350. Both meausure right around 65inchs.

I was looking at the Blue Torch FaB Full Width Kit to move the spring mounts the outside of the frame. would also be interested in the M.O.R.E Kit.

Also the front D44 is a 5 lug and the rear is a 8 lug. What is the easyist solution to fix this problem. I would prefer 5 lug but i assume it would be more complicated to find a 5 lug conversion for the D60 rear.

Has anybody installed the BTF kit or MORE kit.

Any suggestions or things i need to look out for?

Thanks in advace.

No experience with the swap kits, but I think your best bet is to convert the front D44 to 8 lug.

I have the BTF kit. It's pretty nice. I can get some pictures for you if you want. One other thing that you may already be aware of, but your ford axles are most likely DSD. Not too big of a deal if you are swapping t-cases or flipping the Jeep's case, but worth mentioning

I would try to find an 8 lug d44 from a chevy, if you're trying to stay away from the d60 right now.

You can keep the t-case, and chevy/dodge 60s are easier to find than HP ford 60s.

i did the btf kit for dodge axles with a 44 front. the 44 had been in a military truck and had full time 4wd on it, so i changed the knuckles out to 8 lug chevy stuff. i think it'd be easier to convert the front to 8 lug instead of the back to 5 lug also....

I would think that the Ford front axle would be a Drivers drop (differential on left side of vehicle) and the CJ were all passenger side output on the transfer case. You would have to flip the transfercase or run Ford tranny/transfer case or post 1988 Gm tranny and transfer case.

Someone had a BTF kit on here in for sale items...
