Hi guys,
Been a long time reader here, but never posted as I really haven't had anything worth adding. I am thinking about heading down to URE tomorrow afternoon and checking things out. I have an old 95 YJ on stock susp. It has a 1" BL and 32" tires with TJ flares for a little extra clearance.
Being a noob, I'd prefer not to tear up my junk just yet. Will I be okay if I stick to the easy trails - just to get my feet wet? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Peace,
JED

You can make it on all of the trails. I take my 3/4 ton truck on some of these trails just fine.

check in the upcoming events section. find someone to tag along with. dont go alone. Only way to learn is to just head down there and do it.

You should be fine just a few suggestions:

Print out a map from here, or make sure to pick up a FS Map at the Outpost.

When you stop by the Outpost to buy your trail pass see if any groups are about to head back out. The golden rule of wheeling is to not wheel alone.

If you do end up wheeling alone take it slow and keep an eye on your map so you don't get lost. The trail system can be a little bit confusing for anyone on their first time out, a lot of people get turned around/lost.

If you have a CB tune to channel 4 or 5. A lot of wheelers frequent those channels, and if need be in some cases you may be able to get help etc if needed.

Thanks for the tips, guys. I plan on staying on the easy trails the first time out. I'll have a buddy with me, but we'll try to hook up with some folks at the outpost if we can.

Thanks again!
