I need someone to come check out our washing machine. I spent some time trying to figure it out and I believe the timer is the issue but would rather have someone with washer experience to come take a look for me. Pm me if anyone here does this kind of work and let me know your "after hours" rates ;)

I'd search online for fixes for your model. I had a friend here in HKY that called a local appliance repair service. They told him it would be a three day wait for a heating element for his dryer. Guy left the apparaisal so he called a local parts supplier that had the same part in stock for $30. The repair guy was going to charge $250 and make him wait 3 days!

I've looked it up but I don't want to just start throwing money at it without knowing for sure what the problem is.

In my friends case he could have bought lots of new parts for what the repair guy was going to charge him. Anymore it's just about as plausible to just replace it. Or take it to someone that repairs em and resells em. They'll probably be cheaper than having someone come to you.

Honestly you can get good ones on Craigslist for less than $100, I don't know why you would put too much effort into repairing it if the part is expensive. I know a timer doesn't seem like it would be expensive, but look up the price for the part before you invest too much effort in repair.
