If any of you guys are willing or know someone who could please let me know ,,this jeep has been sitting for too long
:driver:

i know someone who can get me the inspection sticker
the engine is out of the jeep ,, i hope to have an engine and trany soon ,,just need someone to tell me how much it will be for their time .. I know some of you swap out 4 cyl. for a 350 v- 8 or a 4.0 six cyl .. i've never done that , so i dont want to push my luck,, i got some mechanical skills but this is just too much for me

Unless you know someone high up in Raleigh, yo won't get around the light. Since that things OBD2 all the station does is hook it up to the computer, and the computer says pass or fail and assigns a sticker number. Trust me, I'm very good friends with several inspectors, they can't pass it. However, what I would advise you doing is finding a wiring harness from the same year TJ and hooking it all up. That would look just like factory and shouldn't throw the light. I did a 94 YJ engine in my 80 CJ, but the OBD2 is more complicated.

why dont you just put a 4.0 or 4.7 stroker in it and use that wiring harness, it would give you the swap you want and still pass inspection assuming you did it right

Look up Shaba-do-bang.... (i think thats how he spells it)... He is down in Wilmington and can hook u right up.... He even has a 4.0 6cyl and all accessories/wiring sitting there waiting for a jeep to put it in

thanx everyone for all the input.. I''ll be going to willmington soon so i might look him up
would rather like some one closer to raleigh but I''ll take what i can get
thanx again

Hey I'm in Wilmington. I got the 4.0 motor, trans(auto), computer everything out of a 04 rubicon with less than 40k miles waiting for a good home. The motor was removed to get replaced with a Hemi (which is also another option if you want)

I can also get the jeep to have no check engine lights and pass inspection fine.

Give me a call sometime

I could install for you as well and make it pass legally, just decide what motor you want and PM me. Ill warn you it won't be cheap but it will also be right and not a hack job.

Carolina Truggies or Sha_ba_da_Bang could do it for you as well, as i can vouch for these guys. But I would be weary taking it to someone that says it is going to be cheap. Your going to end up with an expensive mess.
