Ok so recently I bought a 60/70 axle pair and I'm needing a disc brake kit for the D70 but I'm having alotta trouble finding out if its out of a dodge or Chevy I've been looking them up and I'm really not Gettin a whole lotta sense outta the internet cause there's just so many kinds of them so my main question is what's the easiest way to tell!? Thanks!

Spring mounting widths are different, aren't they? The fronts are very easy to tell apart. Post some pics of them!

Look for the Dana BOM number stamped on the axle tube or possibly on the diff cover tag.
Type that number into the Dana Expert site and it'll tell you basically everything about that axle in OEM form.

The Dodge hub gets bigger as it goes to the point where the axle shaft bolts on. The Chevy hub is the same size from one end to the other.

^ that's easiest way that I've found!

I just finished doing research on getting a kit put together for a Dana 70 for a customer. This one happened to be a Dodge.

If your issue is what caliper bracket you will need, measure the bolt pattern on the end of the housing (tube). From what I have found, I believe there are two patterns. 3 3/8" square and a 3 3/8" x 3 9/16" pattern. Both brackets are available for the Dana 70. It says the 3 3/8" square pattern is typically Dodge. The other is Typically a Ford. (Nothing about GM pattern?!) If your pattern isnt either of these patterns, call a bracket maker and tell them what you have! But I havent found anything other than the two patterns mentioned here.

As a note, plan on using some spacers. Cant tell you what you will need, because the sources I found state that the spacers can vary wildly on a Dana 70
